Benefit Analyst

Description: Responsible for rate quotes, proposal preparation, client facing communication materials and client service under the direction of the client or Account Manager.

Essential Functions:

Participate in the request for proposal process by preparing requests; following up with client and carriers for information; reviewing results and compiling information in order to illustrate and assemble cost/financial analysis exhibits and market trends.

  • Understand and illustrate various funding options
  • Calculate employee contributions
  • Create professional and accurate employee communication materials
  • Complete and ensure accuracy of enrollment election materials for new hires and annual open enrollment
  • Implement and administer online enrollment systems
  • Respond to customer service inquiries
  • Job Requirements
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills are required with an emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desired
  • Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors and co-workers on the phone and in person.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to proof one’s own work as well as the work of others; ability to work in a proactive manner to consistently deliver high quality work
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and carry multiple projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Be professional in both appearance and manner.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Knowledge of employee benefits, HRIS, COBRA, PPACA and benefit administration preferred.  Benefits Administrator, Employee Benefits or HR background preferred.
